I hope your festive break was a relaxing, restful one. I watched far too much Netflix but I have got back on board with some Mindvalley meditation classes, which I am thoroughly enjoying.
Admittedly, I find it hard to switch off and I am sure you will agree when I confess that I feel so guilty for not reading emails or doing any actual work over Christmas. (ok, so I read emails!) However, I feel rested and refreshed with new vigour to tackle some big ideas this coming year.
That said, I am back at my desk today and putting the finishing touches to my new website (launching in January 2023) and my new fee structure, which has been long overdue. See below for how to book a prepaid shoot before the fee restructure.
Here are my top tips for planning a strong start to 2023:
- Create a tracker to note down any new habits you want to form, ticking them off feels good and motivates you more
- Start small. Build up. Consistency compounds, so small and regular wins the day
- Write your targets down (revenue/new creations etc.) and WHEN they will be achieved. Have an OUTLINE of how you’re going to get there
- Just start! It will never be perfect but that momentum will build if you just take one step. This is my Achilles heel – I have been writing two online photography courses for MONTHS now, I want them to be ‘perfect’ before launching, but I just need to get them out there and let you decide!
- You get more of what you focus on. So focus on the positives, the big and small wins. The little steps that begin an exciting journey
- Ask for help. I like to think I can do it all myself, but in actual fact, I can’t! Bring in the professionals, and free up your time to make better progress in your business
- COMMUNICATE, be honest, and talk to customers and suppliers. The older I get the more honest I am….
- FINALLY, love what you do, that’s why you started yes? Rekindle the passion, and do something that brings you joy every day. Otherwise, what’s the point?
Thanks for reading, I hope this helps in some small way. So to tick off ‘photography’ from your list here’s what to do:
Book a pre-paid shoot here at 2022 fees. These will disappear in January, and it will become a flat fee again to simplify. The fee for the remainder of this year (to use anytime in 2023!) will be £165 (the lowest available fee on my current system) for a half-day shoot (Full day is double that) Up until Dec 31st, 2022. So do hurry if you want to have a shoot in 2023, this will save you money!
